Veronafiere, 27th to 30th October
Raul Barbieri, general manager of Piemmeti: «In a post-pandemic scenario, wood can be a hub for sustainable development and circular economy»
Verona, 19th April, 2021
The wood supply chain, a true excellence of Made in Italy, trusts in the coming months and is striving to become the protagonist of the post-emergency economic recovery. And it does so by getting ready to seize all possible business opportunities on the market”.
In order to define such new outlook, the industry leaders are going to meet at Wood Experience, the fair organized by Piemmeti, taking place in Verona from 27th to 30th October 2021. The fair has been redesigned in order to meet new business needs, as well as to guarantee safety and international exchanges.
The wood supply chain at Wood Experience
Wood Experience is the only Italian event bringing the entire wood supply chain together. It is a trade fair that covers all sectors: the woods, the sawmills, and its core business: woodworking machinery, both for building and structural purposes and for furniture and furnishings, and finally finishing, treatment and complementary woodworking.
This event will involve the most important European players of the “wood culture” and will host the world’s leading companies in the building and furnishing sectors, as well as the major Italian entrepreneurial, trade, woodworking and finishing leaders.
Wood Experience is the evolution and development of Legno & Edilizia, a trade fair also organized by Piemmeti, which was the reference point for the wood construction sector for 20 years. It has then expanded by merging with Samulegno, the only event dedicated to furniture machinery and technologies for Italy and Central-Eastern Europe. Other elements of the wood supply chain are forestry machinery and machinery for the initial woodworking stages. These are to be found in Progetto Bosco, the exhibition area providing operational demonstrations with wood splitters, chippers, shredders, saw benches, woodcutters and woodworking centres. The Envelope sector will provide information on wooden roofs, floors, doors, windows and walls. Small and large companies of these sectors will also be present. An important role is also played by design and finishing, in the exhibition area dedicated to innovative IT applications of technical (CNC) and architectural (advanced CAD) design. They are applied to innovative models of milling, finishing, beam painting, structural components, panels, doors, floors, windows and doors. Finally, Wood Experience provides an area dedicated to wood energy, in collaboration with AIEL, the Italian association of agroforestry energy. Wood energy is the first renewable energy source in Italy. Wrongly, it is often considered harmful and polluting. It actually provides heating without contributing to global warming, reduces air pollution by up to 80% and protects the woods.
The Natural House
Finally, a “Natural House” will be created in the Wood Experience pavilions: it is a sustainable house that highlights the advantages of wooden construction and promotes an eco-friendly lifestyle. The house was built with the collaboration of ENAIP, Trentino Wood Carpentry School, a vocational training centre in Tione di Trento. The aim of building the Natural House is informing the numerous private visitors and professionals in wood construction of the competitive advantages of a model that can be applied equally in large city centres as well in small mountain villages swiftly and with known costs.
